The Lethbridge College Fashion design and marketing program put on their big fashion show event this past Saturday and Some of the Slade Models were participating so I went down to shoot. The lighting was not your typical high fashion runway lighting, but instead had a lot of spots all over the place which lit up the entire room a bit too much, but all in all the models were awesome, the fashions were amazing and I had some fun!

There were a few other photographers also shooting so they had their “lighting” set up in random places around the stage, it was all a bit odd for me to see any strobe use at a fashion show as this really isn’t typical (but I suppose boys don’t watch much FTV) :) I worked around them and their indulgence and manged to get some fun stuff, here are some of my faves from the night! There are so many great shots I had to narrow it down to just a few for here, perhaps a slide show will be in the near future.

The snow let up for me just long enough to sneak out to the train bridge in Indian Battle Park with this awesome family. Sue and Bill have three great “kids”, and althought the boys didn’t feel that into family photo day, we managed to get some smiles out of them and it turns out that it wasn’t half as painful as they probably thought it was going to be! :)

Sue and Bill haven’t had any professional photos together since they were married 25 years ago, so after the family photos were done, mom and dad stuck around, changed into some comfy blue jeans, and we had some fun capturing just the two of them. I have to say, I love seeing couples still in love after 25 years, it is so sweet and they were so great in letting me drag them through some muddy terrain to get the shots we wanted to get. Bill is a train enthusiast so the bridge is right up his alley, and you can see one of his model trains featured in the Chinook country tourist association guide book for 2009 that we shot!

Thanks for coming out guys, it was fun and I’m glad the sun even poked out from behind the clouds out for a bit!

Jeannette and Kevin got maried last summer and I had the pleasure of not only shooting their wedding, but becoming their freinds. I love this couple and LOVE that they are having a baby in the very near future. Jeannette is glowing and looks fantastic pregnant, and Kevin is glowing a bit too even :) I am so excited to meet the little baby girl and I know she will be amazing if she is anything like her parents!

Congrats again guys!

Curtis and Melissa are getting married in June and we took advantage of the gorgeous sunny weather to head out to the river bottom to shoot their e-session. These two are so cute and fun, and Curtis even got Melissa to climb out on some trees down over the water to play. I am excited for this wedding, it is going to be a blast! Thanks guys, see you soon.

We did Raedyn’s newborn shoot just a short year ago and wow, I can’t believe how grown up she is! So many wonderful changes take place in the first speedy year of life and it is so great to see this beautiful, funny, charming little girl running around my studio! Raedyn was so well behaved and sweet as could be, I LOVE that she kicks the ball around like a little soccer player and she gets so excited doing it! haha. Thanks for bringing her in again, we had a blast playing :)
